WHO ARE WE
DIFFERENCE MAKERS
Founded in 2009, the Pink Purse, Inc. inspires action, serves people, and strengthens communities of color. We understand that change lies in our actions. As an organization, our mission is to encourage and empower women and girls of color to be assertive, confident, and financially sound. We are committed to educating and increasing access to improve people's lives in three areas: mental health and wellness, personal empowerment, and financial literacy.
Mental Health Education and Access
We provide education and access to mental health services through a partnership with the Lewis Family Wellness Center, LLC, by providing access to psychotherapy services for individuals, couples, families, and groups. We also collaborate to provide mental health awareness workshops and training to mental health professionals and communities of color. We offer a counselor apprentice program that targets high school and undergraduate seniors of color to become clinicians.
Personal Empowerment
We are determined to strengthen and empower women and girls to be the best version of themselves. Through collaboration and partnership with local shelters, churches and other nonprofits, the Pink Purse delivers toiletry-filled purses and empowerment seminars to women and girls throughout the Twin Cities metro area.
Financial Literacy
We are focused on financial literacy and empowering people in communities of color, (specifically, communities of Black/African descent) to become debt free, build wealth, and create a financial legacy for their families.
